Community Involvement
At QCMS, we embrace the principles of cosmic education by actively engaging with our local community to foster a sense of interconnectedness. We participate in community service projects, such as organizing food drives where students learn the importance of giving back and caring for their surroundings. Additionally, we partner with local organizations to support local events. By encouraging students to explore their role within the larger world, we aim to cultivate compassionate and responsible citizens who understand the impact of their contributions to the community. Below are a few examples of local organizations we have supported or sponsored:
Thanksgiving food drive for TEEG
Sponsor Judy Nilan Foundation’s Jog with Judy
Support Woodstock Education Foundation
Sponsor of town’s annual Trunk or Treat
Support The Little Bean’s “Birthday in a Box” service program
Support The Woodstock Academy’s Music Department basket raffle.
Support various organizations meaningful to our students and their families
In addition, we partner with various organizations to enhance students' education and deepen their understanding of the local community. For instance, we arrange field trips to local farms, where students can learn about agriculture and sustainability, and to the local arboretum, where they explore the importance of nature conservation. Visits by the fire department and police department to offer a firsthand look at community safety and service, fostering respect for local heroes. These experiential learning opportunities allow students to connect classroom concepts with real-world applications, enriching their educational experience and cultivating a sense of responsibility towards their community.
