• Holly Dearborn

    Co-Owner, Director, Montessori Guide

    Holly is an experienced educator with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Vermont and a Master's Degree in Education Administration from Providence College. After teaching 3rd grade for twelve years, she took a break to raise her family and became actively involved as the Story Time Librarian at May Memorial Library, which deepened her passion for early childhood education.

    Returning to the workforce in 2014, she worked as a Kindergarten Paraprofessional and went on to earn a Montessori diploma from the North American Montessori Center. Holly is dedicated to her community through various volunteer roles, including her membership on the May Memorial Library Board of Trustees, former President of Woodstock Area MOMsClub, former Woodstock Board of Education member, and participation on the Woodstock Elementary School PTO, all while raising her three children, who have all attended Montessori preschools.

    Holly, with a strong foundation in education, embraces the Montessori method of teaching, actively participating as a member of the American Montessori Society to enhance her professional growth, while drawing on her extensive experience as an educator and community volunteer to enrich the learning experiences of preschool age children.

    In her free time, Holly enjoys spending time with her family and friends, relaxing at the beach, reading, and baking.

  • Amy Cross

    Co-Owner, Admission’s Director, Montessori Guide

    Amy earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in 2001 from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. She began her teaching career as a 4th-grade teacher at Water’s Edge Elementary School before returning to her home state of Massachusetts. There, she pursued a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Fitchburg State University, graduating in 2005. During her time at Fitchburg State, Amy also served as the Education Director at the Huntington Learning Center.

    An avid soccer enthusiast, Amy attended Florida Atlantic University on a soccer scholarship and went on to coach at various levels, including the women’s college team at Fitchburg State. In 2005, she began coaching the high school girls’ soccer team at Woodstock Academy, where she remained for seven years before taking time off to focus on raising her children.

    Amy has been deeply involved in her community, volunteering as a board member for her local MOMS Club for seven years, serving on the PTO board at her children’s school for two years, and leading the Basket Bash fundraiser for five years, raising thousands of dollars for Woodstock Public Schools.

    Amy currently resides in Woodstock with her husband and three children. Amy’s children have all attended Montessori preschools. Inspired by the benefits of Montessori education, Amy completed her Montessori certification with the North American Montessori Center in October 2016. Over the past eight years, Amy has worked diligently with Holly to expand their Montessori community, with QCMS playing a significant role in local events—a contribution Amy takes great pride in. In her free time, Amy enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

  • Dorothy Baker Miller

    Assistant Guide

    Dorothy grew up in Southern Maine and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine. With extensive experience in various educational settings, including education-based daycare centers, public schools, and as a private nanny, Dorothy has a deep passion for working with children.

    In 2009, Dorothy moved to Connecticut with her husband, where they bought a home and expanded their family with their children and pups. She discovered QCMS and enrolled her daughter for her preschool year before Kindergarten, quickly developing a love for the Montessori method and the team, including Amy and Holly.

    Dorothy finds great reward in working with such a dedicated team in an enriching and empowering environment. In her free time, she enjoys exploring, playing, and creating with her children, baking, and visiting Maine.
